when I hit the F12 key my bios doesnt appear but instead recyles until I let go of the key

I am unable to access my BIOSS I have it password protected but I am unable to access it to log in. I have an ASUS Maximus V Gene Motherboard. It allows me to log in as a user but not administrator.

Locate the CMOS battery, take it out for 5 mins and put it back in. This should reset the bios password.

Thanks, I actually used the reset on the back of the Motherboard and it all works again
