Any benefit on defragmenting a mechanical drive before migrating to a SSD?

I am looking to replace a mechanical drive in a HP Probook 4530s with a Samsung SSD 850 Evo, I will be using the Samsung data migration software.

I was curious if it was worth the time to first defragment the drive before I copy the files across.

I believe Win7 and later (I think Vista too, but not sure) should automatically defrag your drive.

I don't think it makes much difference either way.

I mean, why not? It can't hurt. Just defrag it if the last date it was defragged is a while ago and go do something while it works its magic
