Opening and closing of a CD-rom/DVD/Blu-Ray drive in the manner that you described is a sign that someone has remote access to your computer andis spying on you via a RAT (remote access trojan), with possible video and/or audio of yourself being sent to another computer, if you have any sort of camera and/or mic hooked-up to your computer.

The opening and closing of the drive is usually a joke to make you concerned, but most experienced spyiers won't do that, because it tends to blow their cover and the user will take it get fixed and re-imaged, and thus get rid of the RAT.
what you can also try is to take the front cover off of the DVD rom drive, or if that doesn't come off, try taking the tray door off; It usually slides up and off (this is a little plastic piece that is at the end of the tray and it usually has writing on it, like 40X speed, etc in white lettering. Sometimes this piece comes off and sometimes not, the same with the faceplate.
Try what I stated as it could just be a plastic piece just not sitting correctly, and might be loose or whatever.
If you have a cam or microphone hooked-up to your computer, disconnect it, or cover the lens with black tape, until you can be sure that it is NOT a rat installed on your computer.
