I recently bought a Lenovo t450s with i5 processor, 8GB Ram, and 500GB 7200rpm HDD. I decided to upgrade to a 500GB SSD, a Crucial MX200, which is supposed to be compatible. I received recovery disks from lenovo and began the process of imaging the new SSD, but received the pxe-p61 media test failure error. I double checked and am pretty sure it is installed correctly with all the connections lined up. In lenovo diagnostics it looks like the ssd is not recognized. I am not sure if it is a hardware issue or what at this point. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Boogieman,

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated! I was getting ready to do all that when I just decided to go back and check my work again, it turns out I am only human and I did make a mistake. I had not installed...
Hey there, Thinker.

In cases like yours (when everything seems done right, but the there's still an issue), it's best that you try the SSD with a different computer to see if it's recognized properly and if you're able to test it with a diagnostic tool, so that you see if there are any errors. If it doesn't work with the other computer as well, then I'd recommend that you contact the SSD manufacturer's customer support or the retailer you got it from and try to RMA it.

Hope that helps.

I'm having the same issue on the 500gb Crucial MX200 and my Lenovo T440s. I'm installing the drive correctly but I can't get past the Lenovo screen. It says press enter but the keyboard stops working. When I use the default drive it came with, it works no problem.

The SSD works though because I've tested it on another computer....any suggestions?

Hmm, this is pretty strange indeed. It should be a compatible SSD. It would be best if you contact the laptop manufacturer's customer support and ask for further assistance. The good thing is that at least both laptops are the same brand and hopefully you'll get some kind of possible solution for this problem.
You could try updating your BIOS/UEFI to see if this changes anything.

Good luck!

Hey Boogieman,

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated! I was getting ready to do all that when I just decided to go back and check my work again, it turns out I am only human and I did make a mistake. I had not installed it correctly and the connections were not quite lined up. I made the adjustment and began the imaging process again with the recovery media I received from Lenovo, now the machine is up and running smoothly, no problem.
Thanks again though.
