My Hard Drive just died, do I get 1tb + 1tb for raid, or one 2tb drive?

HI :)

My crappy Seagate HDD died on me after 19000 hours (PFFFT, whatever. What a baby!)

So I'm going to either grab two 1tb WDs Black/blue or 2tb WD blk/blue.

My questions, are:

Would a 1tb + 1tb be raidable, and if so what rough % increase in performance would I see overall?

Would I need a raid controller, or something? If so, how much would that cost?

Is the WD Black worth it? I thought it was a scam practically, nowadays? No % increase but just a better warranty?

I don't mind doing a lot of work for the 1tb+1tb if it is worth it.

THANKS!

I should have said I have an SSD already, it's in my sig.

'increase risk of data lost' only since there are two HDDs, right? At the same time, I REAAALLY don't care. I have games and por- PORK pictures, yea. Pork. I like meat ;-;

I couldn't care less if I lose them, and the way I see it if I have a 2nd HDD that isn't really used (maybe for rare backups) then I have a backup drive.

Right, or wrong? How would I know if my Mobo has integrated Raid support? 0.o

Also, I have never known what this 'chip' on my case (it came with it) was but it has two sata connectors, and a molex power. That HAS to be a raid, riiight? Or is that like, e-sata support or something? I'll upload a picture soon.

Awesome! :) So 1tb + 1tb is better over all? By how much, exactly? Rough estimate, I mean. I care not about failure (better last 2+ years...) but I care about speed for the RAID.

Oh, and do you know wth this even is? :D

That's a card attached to the case.
