What a mobo can run and what a CPU can run are two different, mobos are designed to run whatever the highest rated CPU is capable of on a given chipset (mobo). I.E. take a Z97 mobo capable of 'running' 3200 DRAM and put a G3258 in it, the MC (memory controller) in the 3258 might', might be able to run 2133 DRAM. Your CPU might run 1600 but may well need an OC on the CPU to run 1600.

PnP is Plug and Play, the Fury line uses it to set itself up to run at the maximum it can on a given rig with the user not having to do anything, (most DRAM 1600 and up runs off XMP, where the user has to physically go in, enable XMP, select a profile, etc. Older mobo chipsets don't support PnP.
