I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and it has been great! Recently I was clumsy and broke the screen- I paid a local store to repair it. The repair was flawless, except that the power button didn't click as well. I didn't see it as a big problem until the power button completely flipped over, and now it won't click at all. I did the wrong thing and turned the phone off- and since the power button is the only way to power on the phone, my phone doesn't start. This happened a few days ago.

I've tried a lot of things to start it- different Note 3 batteries (my dad has the same phone), charging (different chargers too), and a soft reset. The phone doesn't respond to the power button- I can feel it doesn't click. I have called my carrier and Samsung and they offer no warranty at all. Since then I have opened the phone to the mobo and taken the power button out, and positioned it better (guide of YouTube tutorial), and it looked better- but I still had no luck getting a response. I plan to take it back to the local place that repaired it and having them fix it.

Until then, is there anything I can do myself? I know that on a computer you can short two circuits with a screwdriver- is there anything I can do like that? Fixing the power button isn't an option, I've tried that a lot and haven't been successful.

Thank you for your time! If you think you have any ideas let me know- I really appreciate it. Thank you so much!!

Sounds like they didn't reinstall the button correctly and also didn't fully check the device, it is worth taking apart and checking.

If the button is physically damaged it can be replaced real easy, The Power button is on a separate ribbon cable and replaceable, the part cost between $2 to $5 depending on where you buy it and takes about 15 minutes to fix.

Thank you so much! I tried opening the case just to see what was wrong, and since I didn't have a new power button I couldn't perform the repair- but I was able to learn a lot more. Unfortunately I wasn't able to fix it. Since it would take a few days to wait for shipping of a new button I'll take it to the place when they open tomorrow, since their warranty on repairs lasts 30 days- they should do it for free. Thank you again!
