Computer restarts randomly after installing new GPU and PSU

I recently installed a new GPU (XFX Double D R9 285 918MHz 2GB) as well as a new PSU (Corsair CX750 Builder Series ATX 80 PLUS). Now my computer will randomly restart with no warning. Sometimes it will restart after a few minutes and sometimes it will be fine for hours, or even days. It happens while my computer is idle, browsing the web, or playing games. I have the most up to date drivers for my graphics card.

Thanks in advance!

You have to keep in mind that sometimes when you replace parts in your computer that it can develop conflicts with other existing hardware.

I would check you memory and PSU first, then if it still persists try using a different video card. Hopefully it isn't an issue with your mobo that is just now cropping up due to changes in hardware. It happens sometimes. Like having a bad transistor that didn't start failing until you installed a more powerful PSU.

Also, it is possible that it's a burn in issue. If you check all of these things and still have issues, then I would back up an reformat my comp. It could very likely be a software conflict also.

P.S. For some reason your forum post is being considered news by Bing and they have it listed under computer news, lol.

Haha thanks for the reply. I'll try putting in my old GPU and see if that helps. I'm fairly new to the world of computer parts, so other than the basics, I guess I'll need to take it somewhere to get checked out.

Any recommended programs to run some test on my hardware? Something that could possibly figure out what's wrong with the PSU? I believe it has something to due with the voltages (judging by the way it does a hard restart with no warning). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
