Hi,

I am currently considering upgrading from an i5 2380p to a i5 4670k and the step-up in CPU performance is one of the main reasons I would upgrade.

Scenes as the motherboards I am looking to upgrade to are all 1150 this would mean my CPU would need upgrading as a result. The motherboard I was looking at is the MSI Z97 Gaming 3, my current case is terrible and the fans are incredibly loud, so any recommendations on a new case + fans would be great.

Additionally my question is this, is there going to be a difference in gaming performance if I upgraded to the i5-5670k?

Other specs;

GPU: MSI 970 GTX 4GB
Storage: 840 Evo SSD, WD 1TB
RAM: 8GB (Thinking of upgrading to 16GB Corsair Vengeance)

Many thanks

Dan

Actually I'm not really having too many issues at all with my build at the moment, aside from it being incredibly loud. Scenes as the fans on the 970 dont turn on until 60 degrees (I believe) I put this down to a poor case and cheap fan.

I'm thinking of taking all my components out and putting them into one of the new bequiet cases with the fans in that and then getting 2x8gb sticks of ram whilst waiting on upgrading the cpu/mobo.

Any advice on some new ram?

Edit: actually one issue is that my mobo at the moment only supports 3/gbs SATA whereas obviously idealy this would be 6/gns with my SSD

Yeah not having USB 3.0 and/or sata III would be a huge deal for me.

Really any 1600mhz 2x8GB RAM kit would be fine. Here are some great examples
