I am new to building PCs and this is my build so far. I aim to be playing games such as gta5 in medium/high graphics at 1080p 60fps. I am unsure about the GPU and CPU, trying to stay between £400-£500. Any criticisms would help! Not sure about amd vs intel and if amd, which amd i would need.
CPU:Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor or AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor or AMD FX-8350 (i know amd would need a knew motherboard)
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: PowerColor Radeon R9 285 2GB TurboDuo Video Card
Case: NZXT Source 210 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
THANKS!

Go for Intel because it has a better upgrade path and stronger performance per core than AMD. I would go for Sapphire R9 280 because it has 3GB VRAM and I recommend an XFX TS 550W power supply because they are manufactured by Seasonic

Thank you very much for the help. May i just ask why a less powerful intel over a more powerful amd? I understand that intel is more efficient etc but i am willing to spend more on a amd with 4 or 8 cores, would this not be worth the investment for gaming performance? Any info would be helpful, thanks.

Ah okay thank you. If i was willing to sacrifice a little bit of performance to save money on the pc would amd be a good choice then?

Would the additional cores also not be beneficial for new games which are taking advantage of more cores?
