I've been having trouble with black screens on my computer. I figured it had something to do with my graphics card, so I ended up uninstalling my old drivers and installing updated ones. But about half way through installation my screen goes black and I have to hard reset my computer. Right now I'm running off of my integrated r7 card, but I would love to use my actual card again. I tried installing the drivers in safe mode, but the installer ends up saying "Failed to load detection driver." and stopping the install. Or if I try enabling the card in the device manager, I get the black screen crash. And I have to reset in safe mode, disable the card and start over..
I also tried wiping my entire hard drive and installing the drivers, but that didn't help at all. I'm at wits end here..

Im using the Radeon r9 270x if anyones wondering. And so far I've tried installing 14.2 and the 15.4 beta drivers.

Try it again using the DDU method outlined in the clean drivers section at the following link.

Be sure to allow the safe mode reboot and it's probably a good idea to download the 14.2 driver package prior to running the Display driver uninstaller. If you have Catalyst installed, I'd do an express uninstall of all AMD software from the programs and features applet in control panel first, then run the DDU, then install the new drivers and it's probably a good idea to install the newer AMD chipset drivers as well, which may not be included in the catalyst package and are located here...
