I have an HP Pavilion Notebook laptop with windows 8.1 and in around November 2014, I started to get pop up ads for shopping and such. I don't know where they came from because the last program I downloaded was in September and I always read everything just to make sure. I was able to suppress the issue after spending weeks of trying to figure it out, but around 4 months later, everything stopped working. When I try to open up the internet, I get a blank page that says "The Proxy Sever isn't responding". when I click "fix Connection problems", it says "The remote device or resource won't accept the connection". When I try to open another internet based app such as Netflix, League of Legends, or Skype, it tells me I need to make sure im connected to the interne. I know I am because I have my laptop connected to my router with an Ethernet cable. Please help me.
