does the Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma USB use its own soundcard?

according to the website: "The Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma comes equipped with an advanced 7.1 virtual surround sound engine that immerses you deeper into the game. The engine is capable of ultra-low latency audio processing and modulates the audio source to simulate a 360⁰ surround sound experience that is usually achievable only by incorporating more than one positional driver in each ear cup."

Since it comes equipped with its own sound processing engine, I'd image it has its own sound card. Generally USB headsets come with their own soundcards

Having a sound card in your actual computer is much better then having an integrated one in the motherboard or headset. Look at some $50 sound cards that support 7.1ch. It would definetly be worth it.

I have a soundcard on my mobo (MSI Z87M GAMING) http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87M-GAMING.html#hero-overview and I find it pretty good and doubt any $50 soundcard would be much better but I also don't have any free pcie slots avaliable

If you already have a sound card, you don't need another one (unless it's interpreted but having one is still optional) but a $50 sound card is very worth it but you could still get a $20 sound card or whatever
