Phone extremely hot and draining battery quickly.

So i was playing a game on my phone a few hours ago, when at its peak the temperature was between 44,2 and 44,6 degrees celsius. Also i noticed the battery was empty in less than three hours from a full charge while on sparemode (100% to 6%).

Is there anything i can do about this because this is just insane for an almost brand new phone, its an S4-I9515 and i got it for about two weeks now.

Edit: Android version is 4.4.2 Kitkat if im correct.

Some games take quite a bit of resources to play and will make the phone hot, as well as run down the battery very quickly. So if you played a game for three hours I wouldn't be real surprised if it kills your battery.

If it's not the game you have something else running in the background, you need to disable this and see if your battery lasts longer.

Ill try wiping the cache partition, i could also perform a factory reset but i don't see the point of that since the only thing that is on the phone are some games, and some social media apps and some songs.

you can wipe it but honestly your play time and temps for the phone you listed sound right.

I guess so than, but still. 44 Degrees celcius is really damn hot..

I think ill go have to find that app which is running in the background. I might aswell upgrade to android lollipop while im at it.

Would i be a good idea to buy a new battery? One which has a larger capacity?
