I guess the first question is how much RAM do you have? If you have 1-2GB, then I wouldn't be surprised since Windows uses 700M-1GB of RAM.

A good thing to do is just go into Task Manager, and see what is eating up the RAM. Just look for apps or programs that or open, or services that are running.

Another useful thing is to disable services (unwanted or just currently not needed). First, press and hold the Windows/Start key and the R key. This will pull up "Run." Then type "msconfig" and press enter. Go over to the "Services" tab, and check the box in the lower left corner that says this: "Hide all Microsoft services." Then start unchecking unwanted services (make sure to google them first). This will take a while.

Another way, is...

Another way, is still in msconfig, go over to the startup tab. And start unchecking unwanted services/programs.

And the third way: a RAM cleaner. Here is Advance System Care 8, and I only recommend the monitor, and their "turbo boost" option. Anything to do with scanning or uninstalling programs is bad from ASC. It's messed with windows before. I can just keep this program as a RAM cleaner, and it does a good job.

Even another way to speed up your computer: run an anti-malware. MalwareBytes is probably the best anti-malware program. Just do a scan and see what you can find.
