Hi, I'm thinking about upgrading the RAM on my laptop as well as on my fiance's. I have a lenovo Y50-70 and she has a Toshiba Satellite C40D-A Series. Both of our systems supports up to 16gb. (mine currently has 8 and hers 6). I want to buy a 16gb kit (2x8gb) and put one stick on each. The frequencies and voltage of operation seem to be the same but the latency is different (11-11-11-28 on mine and 9-9-10-24 on hers). I checked crucial advisor's site, and it showed different models for each. Is it possible to buy a kit that will suit both systems? (considering possible tweaks and how to do them if you're very helpful) or do we have to buy separately? (for optimal performance probably yes)
I used to tweak in the boot settings to change latency and all of that, but it has been a while since I've done, so I wanna make sure if it's an option.

Solution
Laptops (amd I speak from my experience with Lenovo over the years) are extremely fickle. I've had mine refuse to boot on different RAM with same timings even.

My best advice is to buy complete replacement kits for each, or to risk that you will have failure.

Thanks for your help, I'll buy one for each separately through Amazon then, if it doesn't work I'll just return them.
