My uncle works in animation company they just upgrade there systems and organise auction of older systems as I am going to work in gaming development I was thinking to bay that system, I don't have much information about that systems, but I know they have intel xeon 5400 series cpus,
And probably the have high end gpus also, I search abut xenon 5400 series but I am still confused abut there memory,
Friends can you help me to make decisions should I bay that system or not ,
And one more important thing is that only company employees are invited in action so may be I can get that system at very low prices may be at $100.
I will update the specifications of gpu after I get more information.

These are old LGA771 parts, you'll need a 771 to 775 base to run them not to mention that the supported motherboards are really outdated. The Xeon 5400 series are popular in 2013 for extreme budget builds under $150 or so, usually paired with a GTS 250 or a more powerful HD 5770. Enthusiasts now shifted their attention to the Xeon 5500 and 3400 series on LGA1366 and 1156, a dirt cheap hexacore Xeon X5650 (Gulftown i7-980) can be overclocked to match a 4930K, though not suitable for long term use.

Anyway, these are old worn out systems probably not worth your money unless you're in dire need of a computer and only have $100 to spend.

Shubham Bichewar,

I have used a Dell Precision T5400 with two Xeon X5460 (4-cores @ 3.16GHz) for five years with very good performance and perfect reliability:

Dell Precision T5400 (2008) > 2X Xeon X5460 quad core @3.16GHz > 16GB DDR2 667 ECC> Quadro FX 4800 (1.5GB) > WD RE4 500GB / Seagate Barracuda 500GB > M-Audio 2496 Sound Card / Linksys WMP600N WiFi > HP 2711X, 27" 1920 X 1080 and Dell 19" LCD > Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit >
[ Passmark system Rating = 1859, CPU = 8528 / 2D= 512 / 3D=1097]

As you can see, the memory used with the Xeon X54XX series is DDR2 and while my system uses the 667 speed, there are some systems with a 1600 FSB that will use DDR2- 800 . Here is a list of all the Xeon X54XX series on Intel's very useful ARK site:

http://ark.intel.com/products/series/33905/Intel-Xeon-Processor-5400-Series#@All

-and you can find all the specifications related to the CPU 's in you office systems.

In my view, for animation, it would be to your advantage to buy a system with the 56XX -series as these are hyperthreading, can have 6-cores instead of 4, and will use DDR3 RAM, which is 1333, less expensive, runs much cooler than DDR2.

I recently bought a Dell Precision T5500 to replace the T5400, for only $190 including shipping:

Dell Precision T5500 (2011) (Original): Xeon E5620 quad core @ 2.4 / 2.6 GHz > 6GB DDR3 ECC Reg 1333 > Quadro FX 580 (512MB) > Dell PERC 6/i SAS /SATA controller > Seagate Cheetah 15K 146GB > Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
[ Passmark system rating = 1479 / CPU = 4067 / 2D= 520 / 3D= 311 / Mem= 1473 / Disk= 1208]

> and after $675 upgrades:

Dell Precision T5500 (2011)(Revised) > Xeon X5680 six -core @ 3.33 / 3.6GHz, 24GB DDR3 ECC 1333 > Quadro 4000 (2GB ) > Samsung 840 250GB / WD RE4 Enterprise 1TB > M-Audio 192 sound card > Linksys WMP600N PCI WiFi > Windows 7 Professional 64> HP 2711x (1920 X 1080)
[ Passmark system rating = 3339 / CPU = 9347 / 2D= 684 / 3D= 2030 / Mem= 1871 / Disk= 2234]

Pending upgrade: PERC H310 PCIe SAS /SATA RAID controller, 2X WD Black 1TB (RAID 1)(Converts disk system from 3GB/s to 6GB/s)

It is a very capable CAD and rendering system. The X5680 CPU cost $190 (about $1,600 new!) and I can add a 2nd one by buying another and using a CPU /Memory /Fan rise board which coats about $100. There was a n X5690 6-core @ 2.47 /3.73GHz also selling these days in the Us for about $250 (5.15.).

I think the X56XX series Xeons is one of the very excellent Intel CPU's series and perfectly capable of strong, reliable performance today.

If the system you're looking at has a Quadro K4200 (4GB) graphics card, that cost $730 iin the US and is one of best for 3D CAD today- a really excellent workstation GPU.

Cheers,

HP z420 (2015) > Xeon E5-1660 v2 six-core @ 3.7 /4.0GHz > 16GB DDR3 ECC 1866 RAM > Quadro K2200 (4GB) > Intel 730 480GB > Western Digital Black WD1003FZEX 1TB> M-Audio 192 sound card > Logitech z2300 > Linksys AE3000 USB WiFi > 2X Dell Ultrasharp U2715H (2560 X 1440) > Windows 7 Professional 64 >
[ Passmark Rating = 4918 > CPU= 13941 / 2D= 823 / 3D=3464 / Mem= 2669 / Disk= 4764]

Pending upgrade: HP /LSI 9212-4i PCIe SAS /SATA HBA RAID controller, 2X Seagate Constellation ES.3 1TB (RAID 1)
