what is the best gpu upgrade for this old system?

Mobo: 790 fx gd-70
Processor: Phenom ii x4 925 2.8 Ghz
Ram: G.skill 2x 4gig ripjaws
PSU: Cougar CM 700 watts

Im planing to buy the best gpu for this old system but im worried my psu will not support my gpu upgrade im planing to buy a gtx 960 .., what do you think guys is it worth it or should i buy a gtx 750 ti for less money since this is an old rig.

I'd say get the 960, can always use it when you go upgrade the whole rig. I'd say start saving up for new system, the phenom was a dam fine chip in it's day, but that day was long ago.

I don't know about your processor, but your psu should do fine for GTX 960. From Nvidias specs page it just requires 400 W psu and that could even be lower, if you have high quality psu. But I can't say how much your processor would bottleneck the GTX 960.
