Hey sorry just replied, been a busy week, anyways can you check up this model,i dont think its really 550w tho model is powerlogic magnum pro x275 550w,its very cheap its weird

Or Tier 3. Just because they are the 2nd lowest tier, doesn't make many of them unusable.
Only Tier 4 (except in few rare cases) and lower should be avoided.
Tier 1 and 2 are for high end gaming and enthusiast rigs. This is NOT one of those. So Tier 3 is good.
Most Tier 1 and 2 psus listed there are way overkill for system like his.

Not for a gaming machine no.

3rd tier is ok for business machines, or surfing the web etc.

Lower than 3rd tier = replace. Never screw around with the heart of your pc.

I have a Corsair CX600, which is powering up Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0, AMD FX-8350 with Corsair Hydro H100i and MSI GTX 970...for 1 year now. I don't see what's so bad in them. Know a lot people who have had CX series for 2-4 years now and still working great.

If anything, people are over-reacting on few bad examples that have come along.
They're just as good in gaming machines as they are anywhere else. Of course, not all of them though. Some of the Tier 3 psus are truly something that should be avoided in gaming pc, but not all of them.

People throw the dice, sometimes you get lucky.

The VAST majority of the time those units die young, not "a few".

/shrug you should not risk pc components for a couple of bucks saved.

Made me wonder if there are different factories which make them. Like maybe the ones shipped here come from different factory than the ones people have blown up so often, according to these forums.

Because CX series is one of the most popular ones in gaming here for basic builds (without SLI and full water-cooling loops) and they are really durable. People rarely have had to return them due to them malfunctioning.

Channel Well Technology or CWT, not made by corsair.

And they use the infamous cheap CapXon capacitors.

You are literally playing russian roulette everyday with your pc.

They are fine for vanilla surfing boxes and such, but no way in hell for gaming.

Thousands of sold pieces, with very minimal return or RMA rate would like to have a word with you in that case.
Meanwhile Seasonic and Thermaltake is being avoided here. They have been blowing out quite often.
XFX is as popular as Corsair.

If anything, they are all the same. Russian roulette no matter what. Just as much chances for Tier 1 blowing out as Tier 3.

Laughable.

If you have people avoiding seasonics then that just says everything right there.

xfx are made by seasonic btw...

Good day to you sir.

Most of the CX series blow ups have happened in US or other countries which are using 110 or 120V electricity. However here we have 230V and the experiences are completely different.
So could be there is a difference. I would take my CX apart if it wouldn't be in use and still under warranty.

Hey let me tell you something dont even bother reading those guys comments that are just ranting about PSU's that doesnt even matter that much for some Bronze and up is good enough and so i am one of those look at what cables you need for the GPU and see if the PSU haves them you dont need anything crazy really and it will be just fine!

"bronze" literally has NOTHING to do with the quality of your power supply

the vast majority of cheap units fake that label XD

which is why you ONLY should buy tested units by people with the proper equipment

Digital Alliance Tarantula 500w... TRASH.
