Hey toms,

My old asus crosshair formula V recently died on me (RIP) and i brought this new motherboard:

http://us.msi.com/product/mb/970-GAMING.html#hero-overview

On my old board i clocked the CPU to 4.5 ghz at stock voltage (1.35V) and it worked flawless for 6 months untill it died. On this new board i need to up the voltage to 1.43V to get a stabel prime95 and OCCT at 4.5 ghz.

I know its a diffrent chipset, but it seems kinda high compared to the old one.

Here is a picture of my current CPU settings: http://postimg.org/image/r10uemlwt/

The funny thing is - it dosent get very hot even with these settings - max temp was around 54 in OCCT and 55 in prime95 - on the other board with stock voltage that was allmost reaching 61

Am i doing something worng here or is it all good :)?

Indeed - but after checking up on HWinfo i can see that i have two tempratures for the CPU i suspect to be 1 for CPU core temp and 1 for motherboard socket temp

If thats true my socket reaches 77 degrees in prime which is WAY too hot if im correct :)?

Here is a pic of my HWinfo: http://postimg.org/image/67ib2svun/

I have a nzxt h440 case with 3 intake and 1 exhaust - should be pletly of air tho :)

Hope you can help me again :D

Use AMD overdrive to check for the thermal margin of your 8350 towards unsafe operating temps, HWMonitor is horrible at accurately displaying Coretemps on AMD processors, and Socket temp shouldn't be more than 60c at most.
