Hey Experts I am building a new rig only for gaming.
I am on a very tight budget. After doing some research I ended up with This.
i5 4670 or 4440(Please suggest weather 4670 worth the extra buck?)
R9 270x
Sea-sonic 600w 80+Bronze
and I got short for Mobo.
So I am asking whether a H81 chip-set with PCI 3 with less features will be stable for 900p Maxed out gaming?(will be using a Hyper evo cooler)
I don't want 4memorey slots or any other features like crossfire.
I just want to know whether The motherboard will be OK.
If you guys Have a better Rig config you are more than welcome. Thanks in advance.

For your specs the 600W Seasonic is way overkill. I will suggest at most a Seasonic 520Watt. You can put the savings towards a H97 chipped motherboard and the i5-4670..

However, if you are adamant about your stated specs then as per your questions... yes the H81 chip-set motherboard will be OK!!!

so I am changing the Psu and getting a R9 280.Will that be better?
And Please suggest me if i5 4440 and 4670 will be a huge performance diff. because where i live its quite overpriced the 4670.Thanks For replying and hepling.

The Intel® Core™ i5-4440 Processor has (6M Cache, up to 3.30 GHz with turbo boost)

whereas,

The Intel® Core™ i5-4670 Processor has (6M Cache, up to 3.80 GHz with turbo boost)

So,

the 4670 is most definitely worth the extra buck.

You are saying amd sucks. That is true in the 200 dollar gaming cpus but amd fx is very good for video editing and multi threaded workloads.

games utilize fast cores usually a very fast quad core can run any game. the 4440 is only 3.3 ghz and you cannot overclock it. so imo you should not cheap out and regret later so please buy the 4670 or if you can extend your budget please get a 4690K (this you can OC.)

300 mhz more is not going to help you and mostly games use the gpu expecially tomb raider. A person got the same frame rate in tomb raider with a Q6600 and a 980 compared to a 5960x and a 980. Just showing the importance of the gpu. Overclocking will give you like +10 frames max.

Wise decision to go with the 4690. No your mobo with H81 will not support any OC.

You will most likely need a bios update so if you already have a cpu in that motherboard go update the bios on the manufactuers website.

I highly recommend a 4460 and a better gpu but if that is what you want go for it.

A 4440 is just as good.

if the processor has a locked multiplier then the only way to OC it is to raise the bus speed. but in that case you need expensive overclockable RAM becasue the bus speed and ram are linked. so to increase the bus speed it automatically increases the RAM speed and you must have OC ram otherwise your OC will crash.. So bottom line is I'd personally rather fork out the cash and get an unlocked processor than buy expensive RAM only to find out my motherboard cant OC and regret my purchase. Its very easy to OC an unlocked processor. Can you get a H97 chipped mobo?

You need z97/z87 to overclock.
