So i have 16gb of this: G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C7D-16GTX.

I've overclocked the ram to 1866mhz. The ram isnt too expensive, so I wonder, if i got another set of two sticks, for a total of 32gb ram,

1. could i overclock all the ram, and
2. would it function as a quad channel, or two sets of dual channel? How do I set this up?
3. Are there any other perfomance tweaks/concerns that I should know/keep in mind if i do this?

I am running a 4770.
Thanks!

There are no guarantees when mixing sets of DRAM, even of the same exact model, if you do and they will play together, chances are good you'll be able to run them at 1866 (might take slight voltage/timing adjustments but I've had luck with these sticks doing so). And all will run in dual channel, the MC (memory controller) on 1150 CPUs doesn't support quad channel, need to move to the 2011 or 2011v3 socket for quad. If you try and have any problems give me a shout

The times I've tried they were fine, I set DRAM up manually, but most better mobos will be able to set the sticks up via XMP and do the adjustments to the advanced timings, still might be able to OC them to 1866 with little to no problem. The Tri's have been my DRAM of choice for my own and client builds going back to mid 2012, use them in all my Intel rigs. They often are a little tight CL wise for many AMD rigs
