You have to be very specific when it comes to laptop memory. Use crucials memory tool to find the correct module always!

Ha I replied before viewing your link... that's what I get from not being thorough. How much ram did your laptop come with? Some times you can't mix different size memory modules.

I am not sure if you have an option to change memory settings in the BIOS.

the voltage and timing are also important, and the type of memory chips (256Meg x 64) used so the laptop can address it properly.

how does your memory compare to the one from Crucial?

most memory defaults to 1333 with either a CL9 or Cl10 timing, no matter what it is sold as. even 2400 CL8 would default to 1333 CL9 and then you'd manually need to enable the faster profile.

check the ram to make sure it's FULLY inserted. I had this problem once - it looked like it was properly inserted, but one side was JUST A HAIR out and that caused a no-boot scenario. remove ram and re-insert and push to make sure it's FULLY in, and try again.
