Hi Guys i am hoping you can help as i am starting to tear my hair out.
I have recently bought a new windows 7 machine and installed my data from my old windows 7 laptop.
While i was doing this i remembered i had a couple of old XP hard drives that i could maybe use so i installed these into the tower as well.
Before formatting the hard drive i was wanting to check the data and see if there was anything i might want (music files, images etc.)
my tower recognizes one of the drive but not the other, if i try to access this drive i receive a message "you need to format the disk in drive F: before you can use it" if i select cancel i get an error that F:\ is not accessible.
I have then run chkdsk in cmd and the drive has advised it is a raw drive.
is there anyway of converting this to a windows 7 usable format so that i can use the files on the drive?
