I'm new here. Hopefully I've posted this in the right place.
I bought an FX-8350 and am running it stock with a cooler master hyper n 520 cooler (yes I know it's inadequate. I'm planning an upgrade to a Noctua NH-D15) atop a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 rev. 4.0, alongside a sapphire tri-x R9 290x 4gb and 2x4gb Kingston HyperX blue DDR3 1600 RAM. When I look in HWmonitor, it shows my CPU at most using 70 watts, but it usually hovers around 50 (spec TDP is 125 w), yet when I run Passmark, my CPU scores above the average benchmark score, yet I still see it hover around 50-60 watts. Is HWmonitor just showing power consumption incorrectly or could there be a bigger issue here? I've had no stability issues when running P95 or any other program/game.
