Looking for a decent headset or possibly desk mic

Howdy, I need some help looking for a new gaming headset to replace my headphones which I have had to repair several times now. I have never looked at headsets/mics beforehand due to little interest in using it for voice chat in games or for something like Skype, but it's getting to the point where I need to start using one.

I was thinking about getting a desk mic that I can use with my current headphones so if one breaks, I don't have to worry about the other. But this is something I don't know much about, so I don't know if this is a good/viable option for this use.

I'm hoping for something in the $50-$150 range, but I can go as far as $200 if it's something that can last more than 3-4ish years.

If a desk mic is something that would be the better option, I would like for something wired, with a good stand and that can take a bit of a beating.

And if a proper gaming headset is the way to go I would again, like it to be wired, be able to be taken apart to replace cables, ect, and again, wont be easily broken.

Any help on the matter would be appreciated, Thanks.
(Also, I am rather new to this forum, so if there are any issues with my post, don't hesitate to inform me.)

Well, I got a Blue Snowball (google it) when I was doing YouTubing. It's tough, really solid, could literally throw it at the wall and it wouldn't break. Comes with a sturdy stand, USB connection, studio quality with 3 different settings, blanks out background noise (it'll pick up me talking but not my girlfriend singing in the other room for example even though I can hear it). Cost me £60, which is probably 80-100$?

Well I looked at it, it looks like a good choice. But I would like to have some other options as well if possible, do you know of any other ones that would be good to use?
