Does the Pcie version matter (2.0 motherboard to 3.0 GPU)?

So I have recently been looking for a entry-level 1-3 gigabyte GPU. I currently am using an ASUS P6T WS Pro motherboard with an Intel i7-930. I know these are quite a few years old but I obtained these for free so I'm not complaining. Because there was no updated thread about Pcie 2.0 motherboards working fully with 3.0 graphic cards I decided to post my own.

Solution
Won't matter. PCIe is a backward compatible interface, and no single-GPU card today can fully saturate the 2.0 interface at 16 lanes anyway.

Yeah, true that AND there really is no performance benefit comparing 2.0 to 3.0.
