PC Gaming Headset Quality Importance?

Hello all, I've got a curious question for you: How important is super high quality headsets for my situation?

I'm a college student, and all money I make goes to that or the important things, and as such I basically rely on Gamestop for my gaming stuff as I can get trade credit fairly easy. I have about $45 in combination of store credit and cash, and I don't expect to make much more that I can put towards a headset any time soon.

I'm not a super competitive gamer when it comes to multiplayer. I mostly need the headset for the ability to communicate with teammates over skype/teamspeak much more than I need the ability to soundwhore. I'll use this mostly for playing Minecraft or League of Legends and talking with my friends.

I can get the Turtle Beach Ear Force Z11's (Link) right now, or I can save up and maybe in a couple months or so get something better, and obviously if I spend more it'll be better quality, but the question is if it is necessary.

TL;DR Should I get budget headset for skyping with friends while playing games, or save up and get something probably OP later.

Well, I've probably been PC gaming for 8 years now, during that time I've played for some of the top Call of Duty PC teams, done a lot of YouTube stuff, played League of Legends way too much, and recently started playing CS:GO.

As for League/Skype I was doing that every day, I was using a Razer headset but I don't think it's necessary at all. A 20-30$ headset will do you just fine for that.

If you want to play games like Call of Duty competitively you'll need a better headset, or CS:GO as a better example as sound whoring is SO important on that.

For your situation, go for the Z11's

I'd prefer the X12 over the Z11.
I have a X12, I used it with my 360 for a long while, I played everything from minecraft to COD whilst talking in party chat.
Nowadays I use it with my PC, watching videos, listening to music, skype etc etc and I love it.
I'm not much of an audiophile but my X12 is significantly better than the cheaper junk I used before it.
Budget headsets are fine but don't go too cheap because some headsets are real nasty.
They need to be able to hear you clearly and it must be comfortable enough for you to wear for a few hours.
I sometimes keep my X12s on for hours without an issue but my PX5s get uncomfortable after an hour or two. (weird i know)
And whilst I'm not an audiophile I don't want my music to sound horrible, I'm sure you wouldn't either.
I don't think you need super high quality because you're not playing games such as COD where you want to hear footsteps (and their direction) and you don't seem to be too bothered about music.

TL;DR, budget headsets such as X12 are fine but don't go too cheap. I don't know about the Z11.

Ps. You might also want to take a look at Amazon.

Thanks for the answers. As for checking out amazon, unfortunately I only have $11 in cash, and even though things are generally cheaper there I doubt i'd find a better pair for that much when I can get the Z11's.

As for competitive stuff, I have no delusions about my skills in competitive FPS's. I'm good enough to do well, but i'll never go pro, as I don't have the skill or inclination for it. As such, I doubt i'll need anything super high quality. Even if I do play them, it'll be for pleasure and I won't be tryharding or anything.
