Will RGB LED strips short motherboard or other PC components?

So i ordered some LED RGB strips off of ebay (5050). I installed them but i noticed that there is copper contacts on the back the where you can solder wires to extend the strip. Can this short out my pc?

If they are to add to, then there is most likely power and ground there as well, so yes it would be possible for them to short something. Cover them with some tape or silicone, or something. Anyways, why apply directly to the board? In my opinion it's always better to mount lights where they can't be seen so they light the case, instead of being blinding when you look through a cover.
