Whats causing my PC to crash?

Hey guys,

So recently the monitor I use for my main display started to flicker and then got to the point where it just wouldn't display anything anymore. At first I thought it may just be the VGA cable so I tested it with another cable and still i received no output. At the time I presumed it was the monitor and nothing else so I was ready to buy another monitor and simply replace it. However my second monitor started this followed by crashes and system freezes displaying all kinds of errors such as: 0x000000A5 and prompts saying "boot failure because of overclocking" although I haven't overclocked anything within my machine. Please can you help me identify the problem as I am unable to use my PC for more than five minutes at times without it crashing, whereas other times I can game for like 5 hours straight and no problems.

I'm under the presumption that it could be my graphic card or even my motherboard due to the problem with the display errors, although I am unsure as that wouldn't explain the crash errors.

Components:
GPU: GeForce GTX 660
CPU: AMD FX 6300 Hexa-Core Processor
Memory: 16GB RAM

I also ran HWInfo to record my results after 10 minutes:
http://prntscr.com/79djh0
http://prntscr.com/79djpz
http://prntscr.com/79djz1
and after 50 minutes also:
http://prntscr.com/79e15z
http://prntscr.com/79e1is
http://prntscr.com/79e1o8

The PSU output seemed too low (12v=11.736, 3.3V=3.192v) and so I checked them in the bios too and they game out about the same (+12v: 11.880v, 3.3v: 3.337v). Is it my PSU that is the problem?

All help is appreciated :)
Thanks, Karl

Hmmm. How old is it? Maybe the mobo sat on a shelf for a lot longer than the four months you've had it. Maybe the CMOS battery is dying and the machine is forgetting its settings. I'd try another CMOS reset, and if it works for a while yet again, but then resumes crashing, I'd get a new battery.

Motherboard: Gigabyte 78LMT-S2
GPU: GeForce GTX 660
CPU: AMD FX 6300 Hexa-Core Processor
PSU: CORSAIR CX750 (750w)
SSD: Samsung EVO 120gb
HDD: 1TB Western Digital

Whether or not you've overclocked anything, reset your CMOS to defaults using the CLR_CMOS jumper or by unplugging the PSU and removing the battery for 30 seconds.
How old is it? This sounds mostly like an issue with the graphics card, but I'd do that reset and see if it helps. Now would be a good time to replace the CMOS battery if it's more than 2-3 years old.

It might be his motherboard. What model are you using OP?

If his motherboard has overclocked his PCI buss, that could make his graphics card toss its cookies; the CMOS reset should address that possibility, and the battery replacement prevent it from recurring. To lose his displays otherwise seems more the graphics card than the motherboard, but I don't think any of us have a definitive answer yet. Some other clocking issue might have done it I suppose.

I just reset the CMOS using the CLR_CMOS jumper so I'll let you know how the PC performs over the next few days and if it has fixed the problem or not. Regardign the CMOS battery I doubt it'll need replacing as I built the PC last February so its only a year and 4 months old :/

After a CMOS reset everything worked fine without crashes for a few days... now I'm back where I started with the same problems :( Any advice?

I appreciate everyone's help throughout the process of trying to fix my PC, however after experiencing further problems last night I have taken apart my PC and have salvaged the parts that I know are fine. As for my graphics card, motherboard, and psu they either be placed in the bin, or on eBay to get a little bit of extra money towards building a new pc.
