BF4 Netgraph Shows 100% CPU, 6% GPU

So I recently got a 280 and every game has been running flawlessly (BF3 included). But BF4 is a completely different story. My CPU (A10-7850k) has constant spikes to 100%, while my GPu is only being utilized less than 10%. Does anyone else have this problem?

Solution
Try disabling the A10's onboard graphics. It sounds like the game is running of the integrated graphics instead of your GPU even though you have the GPU installed. Like someone else mentioned, make sure your monitor is plugged into the GPU's monitor ports instead of one of your motherboard's ports.

AMD's A series are actually APUs instead of CPUs. According to them this means it's a CPU with a built in discrete GPU instead of the typical integrated graphics that come on many other CPUs. These are supposed to be capable of gaming without a separate GPU but they aren't as strong as most real GPUs. It's possible that you have been gaming off the A10's graphics all along instead of your stronger 280.

Not true, there are people playing BF4 with much lower level CPUs, there is something else going on, and if you are just going to say that i need to upgrade to something better, first show me proof of why.

Tried OCing by .7 GHz, no difference. Mantle, no difference. There are people playing on dual cores with 280s that are getting better FPS/Performance than me. The problem seems to be really widespread, even for people with i5s etc

An A10 paired with a GTX 770 is only 6 FPS lower than an i7-4790K that's also paired with the GTX 770. Yet I would highly doubt that anyone here would claim that the A10 has 90% of the performance of that i7-4790K. Contrast that with the performance of both chips in GTA V when paired with an R9 290X (http://anandtech.com/bench/CPU/1363), where the i7 has a hefty 20+ FPS edge over the A10 (& the A10 only providing 63% of the performance).

So, barring multiplayer, that points to BF4 being a GPU-intensive game.

Now, having said that, are you using a discrete GPU or just the integrated GPU that's on the A10? BF4 is more graphically intensive than BF3, which generally means that if you're getting 50-60 FPS in BF3 you can expect maybe 40-50 FPS in BF4 with the same hardware. Also, is it always happening, or just happening in a particular mode (i.e. campaign only, multiplayer only, etc.)?

And finally...are you having actual FPS issues, or did you just happen to randomly check CPU/GPU usage? If you're not having any FPS issues, & are consistently getting 50-60+ FPS, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Playing BF3 at Ultra Max everything 8x AA i believe at around 90-100 while bf4 constantly freezes, lags out, stutters etc. I remembered there was a netgraph and when i saw that 100% cpu usage i knew something was up (well i knew something was up when a 280 couldnt do 60 fps at low 720p). I tried the test range, it worked fine at 100 fps+, went into multiplayer and everything went wrong, went back into test range, same problems. I am currently downloading chipset drivers, will that help maybe?

Latest beta currently, I updated to them to see if there was a difference and nope there wasn't. I am currently installing a new chipset driver, I hope that it will help.

EDIT: Installed chipset, and the cpu usage spikes have gone down but they are still popping up every 5-10 seconds, not constantly pushing the cpu to 100%

EDIT 2: Well that was short lived, everything is back to 100% on CPU

How exactly do i disable the A-10 Graphics? I have been trying to figure that out. Oh, and the problem has now reached bf3 as well ;(

Yep, you would do it in your motherboard's bios. Keep in mind that if you have your monitor plugged into one of the motherboard's monitor ports you will lose picture. Make sure the monitor is plugged into one of the GPU's monitor ports not the motherboard's.

If it's plugged in near the USB and speaker ports you have it in the wrong place.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH. YOU ARE A GOD MAN. Disabling the iGPU has COMPLETELy removed any lag in game. Dude, I cannot thank you enough!

I'm glad that solved the issue for you. Enjoy!
