Looking at this model http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-3847-desktop/pd?oc=fdcwrp201s&model_id=inspiron-3847-desktop

If I bought it as is(no upgrades) what cards would be the best value w/o sacrificing performance? Can you give me a couple options in both the 1. Will need to upgrade PSU(if any) and the 2. The original PSU will do just fine categories? The card MUST have an HDMI port.

I edit audio/video, surf the net, would like to play modern games, stream, DL/UL.

Take a look at some of the threads at http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/forum-31.html ! There's a sticky in there too, on how to ask for new build advice. Fill out that template, and you'll get all kinds of good suggestions. Lots of people around here (myself included) enjoy helping people put together new systems. And, there are Moderators (such as myself) who will keep the fanboys in check, ensuring you end up with solid advice. There are many ways to build a good system these days, with lots of easy ways to make it uniquely your own.
It only has a 300W PSU. You'll be limited to a GTX750Ti (one without a PCIe power connection).
You may be able to replace the PSU. The case is micro-ATX, and unlikely to accept longer cards, such as the GTX970. There are small versions of the GTX960 available.
Have you considered building your own?

I have but don't know where to start.
When you say build your own you mean from scratch, right? Are there starter kits?
What I mean is that I've heard it can get a little hairy when picking parts that are compatible. The only experience I have is replacing hard drives and RAM.

If it's not too difficult and I'd get a better deal, I'd def be willing to. Your Minion looks like it has good specs. Point me in a good direction.
