Intel E8600 compatible motherboard?

I have an Intel E8600 processor, and I'm looking for a compatible DDR2 motherboard that supports up to 8gb DDR2 800mhz RAM. What's the best I one could find?

edit: I have 4 2gb DDR2 800mhz RAM

It supports the Core2Quad chips, so it definitely supports your Duo. These are outdated by quite a bit, though.

That motherboard will work, but at a diminished capacity. It will run your processor at a 1066 Front Side Bus. What you're looking for is a Socket 775 motherboard with an Intel G41 or later chipset (which supports a 1333 Front Side Bus).

Unless you can find one for free, I wouldn't recommend putting any money towards such an old motherboard.

EBay's list of Motherboards with the Intel G41 chipset.
I'll leave you to check the specs and CPU support list for compatibility.

Any Asus should fine. Look up its CPU Support List to see if your CPU is on it and what bios is required.
