Slow file transfer speeds on gigabit network

I'm having problems getting decent file transfer speeds through my home gigabit network. Everything is wired and gigabit capable.

The setup:
pc 1 to ASUS AC66R router (Currently setup as an access point)
ASUS connected to Netgear nighthawk r7000 with cat5e. (Netgear setup as router also has an NAS plugged in)
Nighthawk r7000 to another PC 2 with cat5e.

Transferring a file between the two pc's leaves me at a 90Mbps transfer speed.

If I connect the two pc's to the Asus (still setup as access point) i get a transfer speed of 700Mbps which is great. When one pc is plugged back into the Nighthawk, it drops back down to 90Mbps.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I'll try this but I used the same cables. When I look at the speed on my adapter settings, they both show gigabit. Is it possible another device on the wired network (xbox one, ps4, wiiu) could cause the problem?
