Hello, I have the 970, and both Civilization V and Beyond Earth have their AA settings set to 8x MSAA with my previous card.
After upgrading to the 970, GeForce experience optimization tool now shows an MFAA setting, which when optimized for both games is turned 'ON' in the game optimization panel, while the settings retain MSAA X8.
My question is, as MFAA is supposed to produce similar results as MSAA more efficiently, does turning on MFAA in the two above listed games essentially mean MFAA will work to replicate the effect of MSAA X8 while infact using MFAA at a fraction of the power?
Put differently, with MFAA turned on, I'm not getting the equivalent of MSAA X16 but the maxwell feature will work to replicate MSAA X8 maximum setting for both games, using the MFAA process to reduce GPU overhead and achieve previous results with less power.
Do I understand this correctly?
