My computer has windows vista. It will not load into vista because a message saying that I need to insert the windows installation disc to make repairs comes up. I do not have the installation disc so this a a problem. Is there a way that I can create a repair disc to save it without getting rid of any data (it contains family photos and other important files) preferably for free?

You can download the iso of the vista version you were using from another computer, and burn it to a disc for use on that computer.

There is a way to backup your data if it can't boot. All you have to do is take out your hard drive, and put it in another computer (the other computer should have 2 drives after doing this step. Its own hard drive, and your hard drive) .

Boot up that other computer, login, and your files should be located in the second drive (accessed through my computer), plugin your external hard drive, then copy over your files from your hard drive onto that external drive.
