reinstall Win 7 64bit on SSD with other HHD connected

i need to reinstall Win7 64 bit, it is on a SSD. I have other internal HHD with videos and photos.
if i reinstall Win7 will i have to go through Admin Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management to get the HHDs recognized. also will i loose all my data on those HHD?

Disconnect the HDD before commencing Windows install, then there is no risk of getting the drives mixed up or data getting wiped on the HDD.

After finishing Windows installation, shut down and reconnect the HDD.
Windows should recognise it just like before.
