Is it possible to overclock with an ASUS H81M-e?

Hi Everyone,
I've heard that it isn't possible to overclock with this motherboard and was just wondering if this is true. I would like to know if there is any overclocking capabilities, even if just slight.
All help is much appreciated.

I don't think h81 has bclk settings for you to mess with either. Sadly.


Why do you want to overclock that cpu?

I bought an asus mobo once for about the same price, that motherboard wasnt good for overclocking I read, but i never got to test it because when I received it it had a short-circuit. I'm no expert with motherboard types, but I hear that Asrock is a little more reliable.

If you have a pentium yes. There is bios functions for that, as it has unlocked multipliers.

I have an i5 4670, so I don't think I can overclock

I wasn't really planning on overclocking but I am getting a GTX 970 and was wondering if I could just boost it a little to improve some performance.

That combo should work very well. Overclocking always helps yeah. Depends on game though.


What game were you worried about specifically?

The Witcher 3. A 970 will be able to run it well but it might not be able to fit in some of the fancier features.
