Is A 550W PSU Enough For This Build?

Solution
It should work ok, but it would be a lot safer to buy a new 600W or 700W PSU for safety. PSU's are not very expensive and all you need is a bronze PSU. AMD recommend about a 600W PSU for the 280x.

Solution
It's a Tier 2 Seasonic-made PSU so a very good one. In terms of wattage, I'm running the same processor with an R9 290 (which uses more than the 280X) on a 550W PSU and have never had any issues. Measured at the wall, power draw at gaming was typically around 250-290 W, peaking around 360 W. I think you'll be absolutely fine with that.

For less money you could make a better system with newer parts-

Thanks for your replies and suggestions. I 'might' get the 650w just for peace of mind.

As for the suggested "less expensive better parts" build, I don't live in America so if I bought that in Ireland its at least an extra 200/300 euro which I don't have, thanks anyway ;)
