Powerline networking to a second structure?

Would powerline networking work between two different structures connected via fuseboxes? I wish to use a powerline adapter to connect internet from the mainhouse to an outside structure which has its own fusebox (which is connected to the mainhouse fuse box). Would this still work?

Solution
If there is a breaker in the primary fuse box for the secondary box and you share the same neutral it should work fine.

Now poor burial or emi could greatly degrade the signal.

They are pretty cheap so might as well try it.

I believe the distance of the electrical connection from the main fuse box to the outside fuse box is approximately 60 feet. I am not sure what is meant by phase supply? From what I can tell, main electricity --> fuse box (mainhouse) --> fusebox (outside structure)... ie. there isn't two sources of electricity.

Take this with a grain of salt, but I've tried using powerline between two buildings and (although connected via main powerline different but different breaker boxes), the signal I got was 1mb at best, I mean it was slooooowww. Works fine when it's on the same box, but once you have to jump, it gets real wonky.

So if you buy one I recommend trying to find it local so you can return it if it doesn't work.

I ended up just beefing up the wireless. Not enough for HD streaming but enough for browsing now.

If powerline doesn't work and there's a telephone line between the two buildings, you can try a VDSL2 adapter. Basically it's a one-port VDSL2 DSLAM and a VDSL2 modem. Over short distances (less than a thousand feet) it should get you 50-200 Mbps over standard RJ11 (telephone) cable.

Thanks. Bought two powerline adapters and getting great connection between the two structures.
