So this is a very old system running DDR2 2x2gb. Lately I've been having some trouble like crashes and freezes, random reboots and the like. Searching error from the event viewer I end up finding out that maybe the ram is fucked. I couldn't get memtest to work so this is what I did:

I took one of the sticks and tried it in each slot (only 2 slots). The PC worked okay.
Took stick n°2 and did the same, PC worked okay.
Tried the 2 sticks together, but (since I already had both before and had trouble) swapped the slots, just to see, and the PC took a very noticeable longer amount of time to boot and load all applications and be ready to go. It also took a lot longer to power off. Just like before, so no change here.

I didn't try each combination long enough to see if the PC crashed because it is very erratic, I used it like 4 hours with only one ram stick and it went fine. Now I am using it with both sticks waiting to see what happens.

Could it be that the PC for some reason works slower with 2 sticks intead of one, even though both sticks and dimm slots appear to be ok?
