windows 7 vs 8

Solution
If you're used to Windows 7, and no experience with Windows 8.... I think things would go easier with you familiarity with 7.... By the time you get comfy with Win 8, you and most every other Win 7 / Win 8 user will be upgrading to 10 in 6 -8 weeks.
Not in a meaningful way that you would notice.... AFAIK.

I've read stuff like 1-4% improvement..... but I usually attribute that to the OS handling memory just a little better or... within the margin of error in test. It is not the case that Microsoft has held an API(Directx) for ransom unless you upgrade. That is usually every other release(Windows 10).
