Hello,
Can someone savvy with software/games/coding please help me....?
My problem is that Far Cry 4 produces a "hanging" black screen or crash after the program is open for fifteen minutes or so. All appropriate drivers (DirectX, .NET Framework, Nvidia, Intel, etc.) are installed on my system. The game in question is legitimate and not pirated. My computer has no malware present. The problem is certainly unique to Far Cry 4 as I can have programs such as Alan Wake, Grand Theft Auto V, etc. open for several hours with no such crashing, black screen, or otherwise.
PCGamingWiki: a great source for pc game troubleshooting says that Far Cry 4 has issues with USB devices that can cause crashing and a hanging black screen. It recommends uninstalling drivers and controller software to fix the issue, but doing that would prohibit not just the game from playing, but basic PC function, no?
Is there some kind of work-around for this? A magical line of coding that can solve the issue perhaps? I would really like to enjoy Far Cry 4 without a crash screen every fifteen minutes. Any help would greatly be appreciated....
Brian
