Just installed my new amd fx 9590 and booted up my computer and launched my game and mid game (few minutes after being booted) the computer froze. I assumed it wasn't a big deal yet so i booted up the computer to test it a bit and it froze again.

At this point I know something is wrong and i've looked it up and I cant seem to find an issue consistent enough to know what is wrong with my rig. At first it would boot up and last a few minutes, now I cannot boot it up long enough to load up CPU-Z and a video game to test it on.

I have heard many different problems could be causing it and want to clarify what is wrong with it. I have heard not enough watts (PSU), cooler isn't good enough (heat issue), motherboard doesn't support it.

ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0
CORSAIR 750W
1600MHZ 32GB RAM

Install your old CPU if you still have it and Update MOBO Bios. That may help cause your board wasn't really designed for that power hungry CPU. They tweaked something in the bios that makes it working. And as stated above for FX 9590 is 220W cpu and you need water cooling for that either custom or closed loop that will help with temps a lot. Let me ask you.......did you apply new TIM when replacing cpu? Fans from cooler are plugged in? Just to make sure.......

your MOBO supports FX 9590 but like I said BIOS update might be needed

I think you will find that if you do a fresh clean install of your os with the new 9590 cpu fitted if not overclocked at all.
It will resolve the problem.

Part of it will be to do with the change in power from the prior cpu you had installed.
Check what the wattage draw also is of the 9590 cpu to your old cpu and check your mobo supports the wattage it needs.
Have a look for a bios firmware update for your boad also as it may need updating to support the new cpu.

They are the things you should be looking at if you know the PSU you have is enough to support the new Cpu.
