So i got a new 4690k and vii ranger and installed them both tonight, I already had a dark rock pro cpu cooler and noticed that there was cpu bracket already installed on the back of the mobo, I looked to see and noticed it was part of the cpu socket itself so I decided not to touch it and install the cpu cooler anyway.
After getting to post and the mobo settings I noticed the temps rising from 50-60 every few seconds so I immediately switched the system off and took it apart again and noticed that the cooler face didn't even make contact to smear the thermal paste out, they still had the small blobs.
So my question is is this bracket supposed to be here?
