So basically when I overclock my ASUS GTX 970 Strix, the overclock goes through and it works for say.. 30 minutes, massive increase in FPS in all games and stuff.

Then after 30 minutes, my monitor goes black and it says Nvidia driver has stopped responding and has recovered, then the card goes back to stock settings?

The fuck?

These are my overclock settings :

Regular clock works?
Overclock fails?

Do we have to spell it out for you?

Anyway, overclocking should be done in SMALL increments. When it fails you should revert to the last stable overclock. Also, never raise the VOLTAGE more than necessary.

There are good tutorials online because modern overclocking is different than the past but seriously when an overclock causes issues to occur the solution should be obvious... don't overclock beyond what's stable.

So, it's not the numbers that are a problem. Those that I see are exactly the same as mine, and I don't have a single issue. I would be curious to know though what your fan speeds are set at. Are they auto or did you do a user defined? Also, what power supply do you have? Motherboard? OS? Proc? Memory? Need these to help you out, because for me and quite a few others, that is a stable set of numbers.

Deeeeerp. Sorry, just read your signature. You have the same powersupply as I do, but what could be your issue is the SLI portion. I've heard rumblings about the sabertooth and the strix. May want to look into that, but I'd be willing to bet that your card is getting too hot and shutting down.

Mine is kinda overkill honestly, but heres what I'm currently working with.

30c, 40% fan speed
38c, 73% fan speed
50c, 100% fan speed.

I never see above 55c personally, but like I said, I would check the fan settings and get your temp lower.
