Which one would be a better build for the money? I intend to use the system for gaming and programming.

Option 1 (With two R9 290s): http://

Feel free to critique the build but please explain why you make the changes because I want to learn these things so I don't have to keep turning to the forums! :D

Okay then. Go with the r9 290 crossfire. Better than single GTX 970. It will perform well with all games and will also allow you to play at ultra settings with good fps rates.

The R9 build has a Rosewill 1050W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

The GTX build has an EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

and both builds have an Intel Core i7-4790K

The only thing that has me doing a double take is the ssd...
