I have gotten trojans and viruses somehow and the windows version is enterprise. I wish to install Win 8.1 from pendrive. Since I don't have an external backup storage, I created a new partition of 232 GB as drive D and moved all my data I wanted to backup in it. Is there a way I can install Win 8.1 on C drive and then get access to drive D after installation and be able to use data inside it?

Solution
Yes. Just choose C as the install drive. D: should automatically be accessible after install but if not you just add it back in with Disk Management.

Be aware that whenever you do this sort of thing there is always a potential for human error. If the data is at all important to you then you should keep a backup on a separate disk. But, then, you should do that anyway. After all, what would happen if your hard drive died tomorrow?

If your data isn't important enough to warrant the cost of an external drive (about $35 for a 250GB one or $45 for 500 GB) then you've nothing much to lose.
