Hi, im a bit stuck as on to what processor i should get for my current build, it is as follows:
ASUS M5A97 evo r2.0
8gb HyperX Savage 1866mhz
500w evga 80 plus bronze
nzxt h440
1tb seagate barracuda
total of 6 fans at the moment 4 being NZXT and 2 corsair 120mm PWM Performance
Xonar Phoebus
And some 30 pound grapics card

This is going to be a budget editing build to start off with which will be upgraded over time.
Ive got a 300 pound budget on top of current build but would like to keep cost down, would also like to overclock the processor. SO what other parts and what processor would anyone recommend? Ive been thinking one of fx83** and h100i but i really cant decide. Thanks in advance.

This is mainly an editing build

you really don't need that sound card, you can take it out and save some money.
you can get an 8350 and a hyper 212 evo, and you will be rock solid, although it wont be intel speeds.
if you want intel speeds, you can take that motherboard out, and replace it with a h97 motherboard and dropping a Intel Xeon e3-1231 v3. awesome budget workstation CPU.

I'd forego the H100 and go for the 212 Evo as a cooler. FX-8320 would save you a bit of $ (it's an underclocked 8350 and will overclock to 4.5 easily in most cases) that you can put towards a better graphics card (maybe a 750ti or something of the sort).

If you go the AMD route, I'd recommend the GA-970A-UD3P over that board (8+2 power phase instead of 6+2) - it's a better overclocker.

Then again, if this is just an editing rig, you could go with an i5 and onboard graphics and forego the graphics card altogether. Though if you ever want to play games, etc, the onboard video isn't great.

Great advice guys, thing is I already have the entire system built just not the cooler or processor but the 8350 should do the job thinking about it. I will probably get the crosshairs motherboard in the 2nd half of the year
