After I installed my new i7 4790k I was having some questions about the cooling. My CPU cooler is the Cooler Master Hyper TX3. The CPU is not OC'd.

I was having temps around 80C when gaming, games like bf4, gta 5 and such. Are these temps normal or what? I guess because it is a 20€ CPU cooler?

Solution
The temps are a bit high. The cooler is definitively not the best, but it should be better than the stock one. Check if it's correctly mounted or if the thermal paste is spread enough and don't use it for OCing.

I took a look and the thermal paste was nicely all around the cpu, I looked more than 1 times if the cooler was mounted correctly so im going to say it is.

After testing it seemed that it still 80+C! So what can I do no? Maybe underclocking or something?

Nvm, I looked at the wrong thing, it's about 10C less warm. I think it's okay right now or no?

What where the temps with the stock cooler?

Anything below 80C is a tad high for haswell, But still within acceptable ranges as far as safety goes, and with the 4790K having a higher stock voltage than the 4770K your cooler is likely cooling like it's supposed to.

I have not tested my system with the stock cooler, just the hyper tx3. But temps are decent right now, mid 60C and 70C maximum :)

Air flow is the key. I think a lot of folks forget that a major source of heat is the power supply. It installed a generic 60mm on the outside of the case over the power supply vent. That has significantly reduced the temps in my Dell i7 4790 running BIOINC 24/7. Chip case temps are in the low 60's.
